Pumpkins and Progressive Long Runs

This weekend, the girls team had another weekend off of cross-country meets. Steven (Angel's husband) had a meet in Minnesota so we had Angel all to ourselves, which only meant one thing...
GIRLS TRIP.
Izzy, Angel, Tori (Angel's sister), Taylor (Tori's friend), and I all road tripped home to Angel and Tori's home in Illinois.

Angel had planned a full weekend of activities for us and I was so excited. Friday night right when we got to Angel's hometown, we had pizza at Monacle's, which is Angel's fav pizza place. She insisted we experience it with her. It was quite delicious!
After pizza, we headed over to her high school's varsity homecoming football game. It was a lot of fun to be back in the Friday night football atmosphere.

It's no secret that I am fall's number one fan, so I was very happy to kick off the fall festivities.

Angel warned us that her whole town (which is teeny tiny) would be covered in toilet paper. Apparently it's tradition in her town for the highschoolers to "TP" the whole town before homecoming. I have never seen anything like it. These pictures do not at all do the crazy amounts of toilet paper justice. It. Was. Everywhere.

Saturday morning we were off to the apple orchard/pumpkin patch. It was so fun. We spent several hours there laughing, posing for pictures, and soaking up the first bits of fall.

Get ready to see more pumpkin pictures than you ever wanted to see.

Izzy is a very cooperative model.

I could take a million pictures of all the orange, red, and white, pumpkins.

Yeah...... not so candid.

pumpkin thugs.

I literally don't even know the purpose of this loin-clothed man, but I'm pretty sure we saw a mother and her young daughter posing below it for a picture.
Christmas card with a man in a loin cloth?
Frightening.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP WAS THIS BALL OF SUNSHINE. Liam is Angel and Tori's nephew and he is the happiest, cutest, baby to ever walk the earth.

This caramel apple was worth all four dollars that I paid for it. So, so, dang good.

After the pumpkin patch, we went to Einstein's for bagels and coffee and then to the mall to kill time before sushi.
After sushi, Angel, Izzy, and I still had our progressive long runs to do, so we had quite the adventure of running those in the dark through Angel's mile long town.
It really was pretty fun.
After that, we went to Angel's older brother's country concert and a 50 something year old man offered to buy us drinks. We kept sippin our diet cokes cuz jokes on him we were there with ANGEL'S DAD.

Such a fun weekend, I am so thankful for friendships like I have with these crazy girls.
Happy Fall!!!!!
xoxo
