MICHIGAN TRIP PART THREE

Day three was maybe my favorite day. It started with a run in downtown Grand Haven with my dad, then Luke and I made omelets for everyone. After breakfast we headed down to Holland!! Luke introduced us to Holland last summer and I love it there. The cutest downtown. We found an adorable antique store right when we got there.

Those skis? I die.

Took a picture of these signs for Luke because he loved them.

cute little record shop.

a dream.

We stopped by Lemonjello's for coffee. It's one of Luke's favorites. Their coffee has a very unique flavor.

Next, we went to get our boat we were renting for the day. It was lots of fun to cruise around, climb dunes, tube, and swim. The water was actually pretty warm for Lake Michigan.

could this view be any more perfect? ^^^

We parked the boat and did more dune climbing/jumping. Luke scares me to death on those things. That boy has no fear.

Such a great day on the water. We were all ready to shower and get dinner by the time we were done on the boat.

We went back to downtown Grand Haven for dinner and ate at Snug Harbor.

We may or may not have gone back the Front Porch for ice cream after dinner.
too good.

It was a wonderful day with a little bit of everything. Wish vacation didn't have to end!

MICHIGAN TRIP PART TWO

Day two was action packed. After my run, Lindsay and Christian made breakfast for everyone. Biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon, and fruit. So good. We are doing our second annual-couples pick a morning and make breakfast for everyone else.

After breakfast we drove to Muskegon to visit the cottage Luke's family stays at every summer. He has always talked about dune jumping and insisted we all climb up one and jump off. Let me tell you climbing a mountain of sand was one of the least fun things a person could do, but we did. I promise I was dripping sweat when we finally got to the top. Luke impressed/made us nervous by jumping off dunes then I jumped a couple times off a small one for him.
Actually was pretty fun!

At the top of the dune.

We had some time to kill before our next event so we went to the pier and walked out to this lighthouse.

Luke thought I was ridiculous for turning around and taking a picture of this old man on his bike after he passed us, but look at that basket on the back with the lighthouse in the distance. How could I resist?

We went to Luke's Uncle Randy's house next for a boat and jet ski ride. We spend a couple hours cruising around on Lake Michigan and got in to swim for a little bit too! His house is literally right across the street from this picture, so cool.

Luke has always raved about this place called The Cove in Muskegon so when we passed it on the way back to Grand Haven we had to stop. He wasn't kidding when he said the servings were huge. (see Linday's "SINGLE" scoop ice cream cone for reference) I had birthday cake, it's a rarity for me to get something that doesn't have chocolate in it, but this was worth it.

We grilled out at home for dinner and Linds and I made some delicious guacamole. We are pros I tell you.

After dinner we went back to downtown Grand Haven and got coffee and walked around. We decided to go to the Musical Fountain, which is a show they have every night in downtown Grand Haven on the water with huge fountains/lights set to a soundtrack. It was a perfect ending to the day!
Then Luke was dying to "sprint" down the road on the way to the car so I raced him. He beat me, but I blame his non-decaf coffee at 9pm.

Another fun day in Michigan, can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
xoxo!
