MICHIGAN TRIP PART ONE

Today was the first day of our family/boyfriend vacation! It was such a fun day of exploring and shopping. I just got a new camera so I've been taking lots of pictures :)

My dad and I went running this morning along the water and in downtown Grand Haven, one of my favorite parts of vacation is going on runs in the morning and exploring new places! There were lots of other runners and walkers out which also means lots of cute puppies.

After our run we headed back to the condo for breakfast and planning the day.
Luke hadn't joined us yet because he was with his family in Muskegon the past week so we were planning on meeting up with him later when his family was on their way back home to Ohio.

We went to the farmers market down on the water which was exactly what my little blogger heart was in search of!

Christian bought Linds a $5 bouquet of flowers. soo pretty.

LOVE all the bright colors.

One of Christian's friends from school is from around here and told him we had to try Pronto Pup, a corn dog stand. It did not disappoint, so good.

Couldn't say no to free popcorn.
It actually had zero flavor though so this was in the trash can .56 seconds after the pic. Guess you can't complain when things are free though right?

Yay finally reunited with Lukey after a week and a half!! Too happy.

Coffee and more exploring downtown Grand Haven. I am obsessed with cute signs so I'm apologizing in advance for all the random signs I'll post just because of the typography.

Next stop was blueberry picking! Luke was all business. Linds and Christian were taking their time and walking together, and I look away for two seconds and Luke was down three rows from me just munchin on blueberries and carefully deciding which ones could go in his bucket.
When I put blueberries in his bucket he inspected them to make sure they were good enough.

Love hanging out with these two! My fave double date partners.

I love you berry much Luke.

After blueberry picking we relaxed at the condo and played LIFE.
Tell me why TWO nights in a row I have gotten the accountant who gets payed 20,000 a year and lives in a trailer home. I had more loans out from the bank than one could count.
Still fun though.

Love my family. :)

After dinner we had to get Front Porch ice cream. I had coffee toffee. So dang good, and they put a candy corn in the bottom of every cone! This place is like a second from our condo so Luke and I decided to walk home, it's the little things!

Such a fun day with my family, Christian, and Luke. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

That's after my 9 mile morning run. Gotta love that XC training.

summer bucket list update numero uno!

Luke and I have been checking things off slowly and surely. It's been lots of fun and handy to have a list of things to do when we need ideas. Here are a few of the things we've checked off so far.

Eat at a food truck: CHECK! We went to Zombie Dogz and it was delish. The line for it was surprisingly long but worth the wait. I had the macaroni and cheese hot dog and Luke had something with egg on it I'm pretty sure.

Next stop, Chuy's! my family tried this mexican place over spring break and we were very excited to hear one was opening super close to our house! Luke and I went there with my parents and it was lots of fun!

 Luke humoring me.

Did we go on a scooter ride when we got home from dinner? Yes.
Luke was cracking me up doing little jumps on his scooter. superrr coolll
 Eat at Chuy's: CHECK!

Probably my favorite thing we've done yet was go to Ghostlight, a cool coffee shop in downtown Dayton. One of the things on our list was to visit "three cool coffee shops". So we are one third of the way there on that one! I could visit coffee shops ALL day long. It was so fun trying something new with Luke and exploring a place we've never been together.

Luke just got a super nice camera and he loves taking pictures with it, so we had fun messing around with it while we were there!

I mean, c'mon. Too handsome.

Modeling.

Okay so another item on our list was that I teach Luke how to make lattes. As I've mentioned he has an espresso machine IN HIS HOUSE. His parents are coffee experts and make delicious lattes. Can't say I hate getting lattes when I go to his house. I taught him for literally 5-10 minutes (people don't understand how much detail goes into making a good latte) and he made a delicious vanilla latte for me on his first try. His definitely tasted better than the one I made him.

He now has no excuse to bring me lattes to work :)

I want one.
Teach Luke how to make a latte: CHECK!

Okay so I'm realizing 99.9% of the things we've checked off involve food.....

anywhooo

We also went the DLM (dorothy lane market) for dessert from the bakery. We split a buckeye and a "Killer brownie". Killer brownies are well known in the Dayton area and they never disappoint. Literally so good. Also love their "Laura's cookies"!

Luke's obsessed with Lord of the Rings so of course me watching A L L of the movies is on our summer bucket list. We've been watching little bits at a time because that's all I can handle. We're getting there, can't check it off our list yet though.

We've also checked playing corn hole off the list, although I'm sure that will continue all summer long, one of my fave things to do!!
I will keep you updated as we check more off.
Here's to a great rest of the summer!
