We took our Starbucks on the subway to the 9/11 memorial.
The footprint of one of the Twin Towers
The skyline before and after the 9/11 attack
The "survivors stairs"
The memorial was incredible and I recommend it to anyone visiting NYC!
We had dinner that night in Times Square, it was so hard to find a place to eat on Thanksgiving!
BLACK FRIDAY IN NYC = INSANE
We started the day with a walk to get breakfast and coffee. I seriously love walking down the busy streets to find cafes for coffee, the excitement of a big city in the morning is soo fun.
When we came back from breakfast my mom was in the crowd on Fox News, you can see her right next to the bush.
I was planning all along to visit the New York City Public Library, and it was even more beautiful than I imagined! I'm not sure how exciting my family was that I dragged them there, but I think they ended up enjoying it!
Everything in NYC was decorated for Christmas. I don't know if I'll ever be able to come back any other time of year because my expectations are set so high with all the Christmas decor.
soo beautiful.
Christmas cards in display cases, so perfect!
Inside the "Map Room"
I'm so glad we took time out of the busy shopping day to explore the library, even though the famous reading room was closed for renovations, there was so much more to see!
Okay I seriously lost years of my life in this Macy's store, it was absolute madness.
Taken at the Plaza Hotel from the movie Eloise!! Lindsay and I LOVED that movie when we were younger so seeing the Plaza in real life was super exciting for us.
She has more pictures of it on her NEW BLOG!!! Check it out here
Central Park!
We went to this cute local Italian restaurant for dinner it was delicious.
Afterwards we got ice cream and Linds and I shared a banana split.
I had been dying to run in Central Park with my dad, its our tradition to run in all of the cool places we visit. Recently we've run in San Francisco, Chicago, Michigan, and now New York City!
By the end of our trip our hotel was decorated for Christmas!
On our last morning in the city we went to a delicious cafe! I was so sad that we were leaving and even more sad because we had a longgg trip home ahead of us.
On Black Friday all I had bought was a hair band thing and a poster as the library and I think my family was concerned/shocked/frightened because if you know me you know this lack of shopping is very abnormal for me.
Then we went to Anthropologie on the last day and I relieved everyone of their worries by visiting the sale room. Enough said. I also won a free gift at the register!
We did a little more shopping then grabbed lunch at this cute grilled cheese restaurant before taking a taxi and literally running to catch the train.
Poor Lindsay exhausted when we were still on the train before even reaching our car for the 10ish hour drive home.
Little did we know that when we'd reach our car in New Jersey, we'd have a flat tire. It was a lonnggg night. We drove about 700 miles home on a spare and at 60mph.
It was all worth it though, I'll never forget this trip. I love our little family adventures! I wonder where the next one will be :)
