Today Lindsay and I decided to drive to Indy for the afternoon. I've been wanting to go for awhile now and somehow it's already my last semester of college, so it was time to go.
We had a few places that we wanted to go, but we were pretty relaxed and just decided what to do as we went.
The first stop was Midland Antiques, it was a HUGE warehouse full of all sorts of things. The only disappointment was that it was a little pricey for being an antique store.
We browsed quickly because we wanted to get downtown ASAP.
I loveee that copper.
She's gonna hate me for this one.
Once we got downtown and finally figured out the parking meter, we headed to Patachou for lunch. Linds has been here several times and just RAVES about their omelets so I had to try it.
It was pretty busy and we had to sit outside (it was chilly and the inside of the restaurant was so cute), but those were the only negatives.
We both got the build-your-own omelet with bacon, mushrooms, and onions. SO SO GOOD. and pretty healthy too!
Next, we walked to the mall and started at the Artsgarden. It was beautiful! Big windows that looked out right down the road.
We shopped around for a little, shopping wasn't our main focus because we had such a busy agenda but we did get some good deals at Lucky Brand. I love that store but they are so dang expensive. Gotta love that Columbus Day 40% off am I right?
Then, we decided hey, Treat Yoself (any Parks and Rec fans out there?). And each got a little candy at the candy store. Lindsay mostly chocolate, and me gummies. (me not getting chocolate is very out of character for me)
After shopping we walked to the canal, it was so cool! The water was a weird pinkish/red. I guess it was dyed pink for breast cancer awareness, which is cool except that that water was turning a weird color and all of a sudden I'm thinking of that Bible story. (one of the plagues where water turned to blood)
We sat down for a couple minutes to eat some of our candy from the candy store. The weather was perfect.
After our candy break we had to walk back to the car because our meter was all out. We were planning on going to a cute coffee shop after that because Linds is starting a blog and I was gonna help her with the design part. Butttt, we went to the closest one (Moe Jo's I think?) and we were NOT impressed, it was dark and hot in there. So we left and opted for McDonalds diet cokes on the way home. I think we were both pretty tired anyways.
Lindsay humored me and pulled over to let me take pictures of this cute abandoned building on the way home.
It was a great day with my sis! I love going on adventures with her and am really wondering WHY I waited three years to go to Indy. Here's to making the most of my last two (??!!!!) months of college :(((
